Fall Asleep, Stay Asleep and Wake Up Fresh!
No doubt sleep is important: it gives our bodies rest to be active and full of energy during a day; good sleep boosts immune system, and even supports our hormones’ proper functioning.
Did you know you are actually losing weight when you follow healthy sleeping habits?
A good night sleep is so crucial that you should start preparing for it much earlier than you might think.
The Bedtime Routine
Below is the chart that will help you to get into the perfect night rest routine.
Back To the “before internet” Era
If possible, make your bedroom an electronic-free zone. This is your resting zone; leave your computer and TV outside. No smartphones, tablets, or even electronic clocks! I went out and actually bought a clock with a mechanical alarm. After that bedroom makeover, the sleep became so much better!
Bedtime Magic Sleep Recipe
All ready for a more restful night sleep?
Now make it even better by trying this Magic Sleep bedtime recipe:
Mix coconut oil, raw honey, and sea (or pink Himalayan) salt and take right before bed.
The healthy fat from the coconut oil, sugar from the honey, and salt all work to help you stay asleep throughout the night, and also helps reduce the impact of spikes in stress hormones, which can often cause you to wake up in the middle of the night.
Why Does it Work?
Coconut oil fats prevent your blood sugar from spiking which is often a cause of sleep troubles. Coconut oil provides the body with nutrients that allow manufacturing the optimal amounts of sleep hormones.
Honey ensures an adequate amount of storage of liver glycogen for the brain to prevent the adrenal glands from pumping out more stress hormones. High amounts of these stress hormones can cause sleep problems.
Having some sea salt right before bed helps the body to stay in a homeostatic state so that your adrenaline won’t spike and cause you to wake up in the middle of the night.
How to prepare
- 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil
- 1/4 teaspoon of raw honey (make sure it’s raw, unprocessed)
- 1/8 teaspoon of sea (himalayan) salt
Mix the coconut oil with raw honey and sprinkle some salt on it. Follow with some warm with water if you wish.
Have a Good Night!
