What is it?

Research indicates omega-3s reduce inflammation, and may help reduce the risk and symptoms of a variety of disorders influenced by inflammation. These may include heart attack, stroke, several forms of cancer and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.

How to take?

Take a product that provides 700 to 1,000 mg of EPA and 200 to 500 mg of DHA daily.

What and where to buy?

Choose a supplement brand that has been independently tested and guaranteed to be free of heavy metals such as mercury and lead, and other environmental toxins including polychlorinated biphenyls, also known as PCBs. Ascenta is one of such brands.

Special considerations:
Because they can affect blood clotting, use fish oil supplements cautiously if you’re taking any anticoagulant drugs such as Coumadin (warfarin), have had a hemorrhagic stroke, or are scheduled for surgery. People with allergies to fish should avoid fish-derived omega-3 capsules.

What is it?

“Greens” is generic name for either green leafy vegetables or supplements made from the green vegetables.

These supplements are sold in the Health Food Stores in a form of veggie capsules, tablet, powder or liquid.

Greens are recommended when your diet does not include enough vegetables or during winter and spring when not much of the local greens are available.

Greens are very good antioxidant and provide you with extra energy.

How to take?

There are different ways to take your greens. You can add them to water or juice. They can be part of your smoothie.

What and where to buy?

When selecting greens make sure there are no artificial flavorings and sweeteners.

There are a lot of greens around; the one that I really like is Organic Greens & Reds by Douglas Lab.
